As a Christmas gift for Betsy (one of my cousins), I decided to surprise her with a personalized, hand-painted (upcycled) sketchbook. The cover features none other than one of her infamous Betsisaurs, a distinctively cute but quirky character that she created a few years back during high school. The highlight of the whole process was conceptualizing a cartoonized version of Betsy herself! I had tons of fun brainstorming amusing contexts to depict in the image. What you see below is the finished result. Here's to all the sketchventures that have yet to come into existence within its pages!

my dear I really think it would be fantastic if you'd share your art with the 'verse! stuff like this would be great on so many applications (journal covers, wall art, phone cases, etc.) - I loooove it! (graphic novel perhaps? hint hint!)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! Terribly sorry it took me this long to respond. I've shamefully neglected my blog for...2 years... x_x. Anyhow, thank you so much for your kind words and suggestion, Lizzy! Perhaps in the near future. Would you like to collaborate??? :)
